How to Get Healthier Longer Hair

Do you want healthier, longer hair in as little as two weeks? 

Over the course of two weeks I learned a lot about my hair, diet and supplements in the 14 Day Haircare Challenge.  

The right mindset makes all the difference.

Learn what bad ingredients are hiding in your shampoo, conditioner and other hair care products.

I have been using a sulfate free shampoo for a couple of years now, but found it still had a few bad ingredients in it.

Eating right for your hair and meditating can help.

Foods like eggs, berries, spinach, salmon, sweet potatoes, avocados, nuts and seeds can promote hair growth.

I am not really into meditating, but I did start a low carb lifestyle back in September.  So I feel like I am eating better and healthier.

You can do a workout for your hair and afterwards enjoy a delicious hair loving smoothie as a reward. 

Also learn to make your own shampoo from safe ingredients.

Pros and cons of homemade shampoo, in my opinion.

Pros:  

  • You know exactly what is in your shampoo.
  • You can make it from safe ingredients.  
  • It made my hair feel really soft and less coarse.

Cons:  

  • It took a while to make.
  • It doesn’t keep as well as the store bought shampoos.
  • It didn’t lather like a store bought shampoo.

I was able to find most of the shampoo ingredients on Amazon.com and at Vitamin Shoppe, that I didn’t already have on hand.

What supplements should you be taking for your hair?

The deficiency quiz got me thinking, maybe something was lacking or wrong and I just needed a supplement or medication.  My hair is still falling out and I am seeing more scalp.

Lab work at my doctors office all came back normal, so that is not my problem.  I have been taking a couple of different hair growth supplements, but they don’t seem to be working.
