Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair
Low Impact House Cleaning
I hate to vacuum and mop and dust, okay so I just hate to clean. There I said it, life is too short to spend it house cleaning. That is where the robot vacuum came to the rescue. I like to think of it as low impact house cleaning.
I bought ILIFE V4 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, because it has pet hair care technology and is ideal for hardwood floors. It also had good reviews on Amazon.com and didn’t break the bank like other brands. Apparently some of the robot vacuum cleaners have issues on dark floors. It triggers their “cliff sensors” which keep the vacuum from falling down stairs or steep drop offs. That is not a problem for this one.
Robot Vacuum under $200.00
I have very long hair and my dog has long hair, between the two of us we keep the robot vacuum busy. I have to say it does a great job! I no longer have dust bunnies or tumbleweeds of hair everywhere.
Some friends told us their robot vacuum was a hassle, because they have to empty it all the time. I empty this one every other day. I guess if you had a big house it would require emptying more often. Our house is 1,460 square feet. The robot vacuum cleans the living room, kitchen and laundry room. Occasionally it cleans the bathroom, but tends to shut the door and get trapped in there.
Other friends said their robot vacuum was constantly getting stuck on things. You do have to pick up cords, shoes especially with long shoestrings, toys, dog toys, etc. Think of it like a toddler or young child vacuuming, it just goes, running over or into whatever is in its path. It does have sensors that keep it from crashing into furniture too hard.
To me it is a life saver. I don’t have to lug my big heavy upright vacuum cleaner downstairs anymore, using the hose and brush, breaking my back. Since we have hardwood flooring and ceramic tile downstairs it is perfect for the robot vacuum.
I have mine programmed to clean everyday. It runs for about an hour and a half then it goes back to the dock to recharge. You can also tell it spot clean or go back to the dock with the remote control. I have been using it for a year now and am very happy!
On a funny note, I swear our robot vacuum has toe sensors. You walk by it, go into another room and then there it is, out of nowhere coming straight for your toes. Even the dog has to jump out of the way.
Do you use an upright vacuum or a robot vacuum? If you have a robot vacuum do you like it or think of it as a hassle? Let me know your thoughts.

Unfortunately it looks like Amazon doesn’t have many of these left. I have also included an Amazon link to the V3 which seems very similar, but I haven’t personally used it.
